Hi, I think the cost varies from different schools. My daughter started to join small group playing electric piano first when she was 5. After one year, she was taught by one piano teacher in one to one basis. In the piano school, the elementary level to Grade 1 is around $100 per half an hour. Now she is in Grade 3, the fee is about $150 per 45 mins. Monica |

At first, my daughter learning at group music class when she was four. At about 5 year old, I thought she was quite stable and interested in learning piano. I started to let her learning piano at one-to- one basis parallel with the group class. And now, she is 5.5 years old and just quited the group music class and joining the private lesson only. I think the age to have a one-to-one private class for piano is very depending on the child. I have learnt from this forum that some children have their private paino class when they are three only. |

I totally agree. It depends on the child's character. If yr child really has great interest and he/she can pay attention for a long time. My girl didn't attended those group class bfr. She started 1-1 at the very beginning. When to start? U can start at 3 yr, 4yr, 5 yr, 6yr..... As most of the teacher said, it better starts at 6 yr as the child is quite mature in both their mental and 肌肉. Unless yr child is very quick learning, otherwise it is money wasting to start at the early age. They can't absorb well enough. |
