Hi OnHO,

One of friends' daughter is going to apply P.1 (for 2009/2010) and she asked me how to check the banding of primary schools.

Honestly, I don't have such info. Do you have any idea on how to search the banding of primary schools? Pls advice.

又係我。 可能身邊親朋戚友知道我囝囝入到dbs, 想我幫手問問...其中有個同事想幫佢囝囝(現係某間直資小學讀G.3)插讀dbsG.4，想知點apply.

聽講佢囝囝成績優異 :winner: ，尤其Eng & Math, 想知機會大唔大.

Hi,

I am sorry to inform you that I do not have such information, too. Actually, no such "formal" information provided in the community. Most of the ranking and banding of the school are mainly shared by the parents, so...

For my family, it is mainly my husband who searches the relevant information of those "targeted" schools and we discuss, plan and train up the boys to show their strengths and diminish their their weaknesses during those interviews! Fortunately, they try their best and being accepted by DBSPD!

Hi,

DBSPD唔會公開招插班生, 但如果你朋友真係想試, 你可以建議佢先寄自薦信, 推薦信, 仔仔既"彪炳"成績表, 獎狀等資料俾羅校長考慮下! 當然, 就算個小朋友點"厲害"都好, 都要佢考既果一班級係有空缺至得, 事關每級只得150個位, 預左全新可以直上中學, 所以唔能夠超收!

Dear OnHO,

Thanks so much for your information and I will advice my colleague to send out letter together with some references / supportings to show their intention.

Meanwhile, she also would like to know if any direct line of Principal so that she can make a phone call to say hello first and then send out the letter.

If you don't mind, pls pm the direct line of Principal to me.

Dear all,

Didn't reckon that this forum was set up till now. Anyway, welcome me back la.

Reading between lines in your message, i feel that many smart boys here ah and competition may indeed be very keen. No doubt on the reputation of the school but sometimes still worry if indeed i am making a right choice for him ? Will it be too competitive an enviroment to have an adverse effect on him. Being a Mom is not easy. Hopefully, it's only me that thinking too much.

Any view ?

Welcome to join this thread! Be relaxed, no keen competition if you could relax by yourself! My elder boy is well-adjusted gradually in the past few months and I am quite enjoying to be one of parents of DBSPD! Indeed, my younger boy is also looking forward to joining the schooling of DBSPD as he found his elder brother had had lots of fun from the school!

You are welcomed to call me for sharing!
