My daughter was interviewed yesterday. I noticed the last no. on the list is 192x while some candidates failed to attend the interview (with a cross beside the no.). A parent asked whether her daughter was the last group to have the interview, and I heard Nov 18 is the last day. |

Quote:Do you know it will has 107 seats or not? 3 class 108 seats from Ming Pao school information. Number of seats is Important? the importance thing is the criteria for choosing students. Maybe, it is same as St. Paul Co-ed, 80% for students with relationship, 20% for top students without background. :-D  |

Anyway, the result will be announced before Christmas. We all understand it is not easy to get into DGS with whatever the reason. Why Don't treat it as a bonus. You may get a Surprise before Christmas. Good Luck. |

DGJS only interviews the kid once, not twice and no interviews for parents. But after the interview, the principal will take your kid to the door and have a quick look at the parents, which waiting outside of the principal's office. The interview is quite simple, about 4 to 6 general questions regarding name, who takes you here, why you are here, why you like the school, what did you do on Sunday, and then the pictures in order and tell what the pictures say. The interview is taken as a group of two-kids. One is reading while the other is talking to the principal, then exchange positions. The total time is about 10 minutes for a group. If your kid is polite and in good manner, mature enough to talk, reading carefully and sliently, educated in St Catherine or CCKG, with good educational background of the parents. It should be possible to get admission. The above conclusion comes from different BK topic regarding DGJS interview and my own observation of this year's interview |

cathy, What do you mean by "parents with good educational background"? Indeed parents in this generation is not rare with tertiary education (i.e. U-grad). Would it be better with a master degree? I knew a girl who was accepted by DGS last year. That girl has all the qualities that you mentioned, e.g. bold but mature, calm, expressive, always well behaved, etc. Her mom is very educated (not sure which level) and her dad is a businessman, I am sure they are from a more well off family. Of course she is a Christian too. I am not sure if wealth is also a key factor to win. Let's see this year's result and have an analysis later. |
