tell him aunty wants to invite him for a lunch to celebrate the good news!!!

I don't know my girl's result in whole form yet
only know she is No 1 in english and english Lit and No 2 in Math in class
So far she did well in most of subjects
but not Chin Hist (not hard working enough)
Still thinking if I should get her a Chin Hist tutor
will it be too harsh for her?
any comment?

that part pulled down quite a lot on her total mark,

文言文is not the only dificult part.
The entire subject (Chin) is way more difficult than in P6.
The articles which are non-文言文 are also quite difficult
- a lot of new vocab, new words, which I've never seen before
n can't pronounce (in Cantonese + PTH).

For Chin Hist,
we need not revise what was examined in the previous mid-term / exam,
i.e. non-cumulative.
Fewer eras are being examined each time ==> much easier.
And piglet revises Chin Hist by himself cos this is a subject which nobody can help.
Either you remember (by memorizing) or you don't.

我地係父母輪住幫亞女revision, 結果都fail.
份卷約40%是可以用死背方法,
後面60%要睇數篇不同文章做分析答題.
例如, 比篇類似文言文寫盂姜女哭長城,
然後做分析, 是什麼朝代, 當時實行了什麼政策令其千里尋丈夫, 等問題.
中史都要考埋小朋友的閱讀文章理解力 同埋common sense,
亞女話未聽過盂姜女故事,因中史書冇提所以唔識,
我話佢見到"長城"兩字都唔識醒目,
對呢d要轉小小彎的題目, 佢就死晒


re.: 中文間補習社教得唔錯, 有大進步, 呢次考試作文短時間竟寫到400字, 錯字只有兩個, 內容平平無奇, 有半班fail, 佢竟pass左, 我都好開心見到佢有進步.

我見本書有d框框內, 有d當代故事
你地本書無 ?
我們用"文達"出版社, 不common
很多學校用"現代"
why not 去買本舊書
除熟讀自己那本,
亦當課外書咁
speed read另一出版社的書
+暑假時先看下學年另一出版社的書
+ 多看中文故事書
I think I"ve seen yr type of Qs in 現代"s workbook, go n take a look

中史因為很多講打仗
每個朝代都在打打打
應該男孩較有興趣看
又多xx法yy制zz之治
暈晒
記唔到就係記唔到

如果常看電視劇
也有幫助
piglet極喜歡看電視電影news report weather report
有時有幫助

+piglet has revision notes on each era done by his teachers
= vocab, names,+ a few Qs.

sorry for using this thread to discuss S1 things
but maybe after reading our stuff you can be better-prepared for S1 when it is your turn !

I know that quite a lot of boys like to read三國演義(whether text or comic version)
when they were in P3 or P4.
Pls encourage them, cos it will help them in Chin Hist when it comes to that era !!!
