Nice to meet you here! The reasons I like EC (Evangel College) are similar to yours! I recall the dilemmas in choices among schools.
My kid will go to EC on 21th this month for the preparation course. I hope our sharings after these days!

I love this school because of their philosophy.
I had graduated from a traditional Primary School
in Lam Tin (SKH LEE SHIU KEUNG Primary School).
I felt very hard at that time because I got more
than eight home work per day. There were four examination per an academic year. I don't want
my child to follow my step, so a choose new faction school for her.

Acutally my daugther has been admission in PLK LHT Primary School also but I still choose Evangel School.
It is because (1) English is the first language (2) No examination; only assessment (3) Life Value Education

I heard about many new China inhabitants in TKO but not this area. The principal has been told us all student from P1 to S4 was not alllowed to go outside for lunch. Parents can bring their lunch box and stay at School and having lunch with student. So please don't worry about that.

You can see some interview questions as below, it has provided by some parent after interview in another Topic.

首先大概8個小朋友一組, 分給他/她們一些玩具玩(我囡囡揀了積木), 讓他們先warm up及從中看他們如何相處。
然後就一對一答問題。

普通話部份:-
先問你叫什麼名字, 今年幾歲？你住在哪裡？
然後比D圖片咭你睇，你要話比佢聽咭的內容。我囡囡的圖片咭有：唱歌、鷄蛋、蘋果、女孩子等等......

英文部份:(外國人考)
叫她sit down and stand up。再用圖片咭考佢，咭內內容是body如眼、耳、口、鼻等......再隨意問：你頭髮什麼顏色？你件衫是什麼顏色？我對鞋又是什麽顏色等......

I give up the subsidies school at the very beginning because I had received the Admission Letter from Evangel School at Sept 2005. I will not change my mind after I has been choosen this School for my daughter. I hope that it really can help you.

From the above message, it mentioned the interview in Putonghua. So I need to let them to join some Putonghua courses as there's no Putonghua lesson at KG?

Do you think what kind of kids the school prefer?

U're so kind and share with me your precious experiences and feelings. They're very practical and helpful. I hope that my kid will successfully apply this school and be your schoolmate. :-)
Then, do I need a portfolio for the principal?
On the other hand, I'm glad that u said u'll share your kid's school life for us. :-(
Pray for each other, may God bless this school and the kids who study there. Hope your kids will have good adaptation in this month and enjoy the school life very much. :-P

Hi, heihei,

I didn't submit any portfolio to The Principal but you need to submit some documentation with the application form by post as below. K2 Assessment Reports; Activity Certificate (if any); Certificate of awards. If you had already make a nice portfolio which container the above documentation, I think you can submit with the application form.

I hope your kid will be succeed in the coming admission interview. :-D

I'm a Christian who baptised many years ago, but not in the church of this school or Evangel Church. Does this affect the application?

Do not worry, non of my family members are christian, but Evangel still accepted my girl as the coming P1 student.

They did interviewed parent as well. question such as how well you know about your child, the vision and hope you have for your child, why choose this school... etc...just some standard question. No need to be too worry about that.
