I have mostly seen 1 and 2 so far ... Some parents always appear so calm, laid back and reasonable until you get to know them better and they have tutorial for every single subjects ... |

I don't think so unless the child has very strong interests in that subject or at high school needing that couple of marks in Uni admissions. Type 2 parents are like lemmings. I feel sorry for their kids. Type 3/4 are ok, but don't expect academic excellence. |

| 多謝HKTHK提供咁好嘅嘢,此報告出自謝鍚金教授,那更非看不可。 此研究(小學四年級)包括好多方面,結論包括: 1. 中英文的閱讀水平(2007年)有長足進步(2006年PIRLS排第二). 2. 24%學生達到英語作為母語的水平。 3. 關於補習:56%有補習,43%沒有。研究指出,沒有補習嘅學生,比有補習的佳(sig diff)。就算最好的一群,仍是沒有補習的佳。 補充一下:1. 此研究研究小四學生、2. 只研究閱讀水平。作者沒有解釋原因。 两條路,唔知點解,一條多交通意外,一條少交通意外,我估家長會識選那一條。 |

Thank you for bringing up the other conclusions as well. I just took the one conclusion that surprised me the most for sharing. PS Sounds like I should look at Professor 謝鍚金's other research as well. I only remember his name for the Chinese word recognition system that I saw at book fair |
