dont worry too much! cos when our children grow up, hk education system may change more than 10 times! so the advantage of ib is that it seems not change in the future! haha!
cky is a school for those parents include me feel disapointed with hk govt and hk ed system!

I don't think the univesrity admission requirements are going to change a lot, and they will still be based heavily on public examination results, whether we like it or not. So unless we know for sure that we will have enough resources for our children to go to universities overseas, they are still bound to the same old game rules - good public exam grades, good university places.

No kidding. What's happening today regarding university admission is not very different from 10 or 20 years ago, except that there are more universities. The public exam formats may change, the secondary system may change, but you still need good grades to go to the brand-name universities or popular university majors. In addition, unversities in hk are and will still be government-subsidized ten years from now, and the majority of their students will still be admitted through local public exams.

Well, I give up. I sincerely hope that CKY will prepare students well for unversity admission both locally and overseas. We may end up sending our son to this school some years later!

Totally agree with you.

kaifu, you don't really need to give up. It's just different people have different views and perspectives. As kyliema said, there's no 'right' or 'wrong' in some of the arguments.
I gather the primary difference stems from the different planning for the kid's studies. To be honest, if one only eyes on local universities, CKY stands no better chance than most local schools. What CKY is embracing is a more flexible and, hopefully, more international, education. You have rightly pointed out that it does have financial implications on the part of parents. Fingers crossed.
