IDSE for mainland students with no HK residency wouldn’t be a problem at all. Such students are always considered as international students by local universities. Otherwise they can’t score full marks in global engagement for ranking.

In fact, our country are fighting for standard setting and discourse power with the western countries. We can promote this IDSE to the BRICS, Belt&Road and Global South countries and set it as a standard for applying local universities. It is not easy to create an English version of Gaokao but IDSE can serve this purpose easily.

As long as the JUPAS quota reserved for local students doesn’t reduced, more mainland and international students studying DSE can only benefit the local students as this can promote the global recognition of DSE.

Local students studying IAL/IB will suffer from this IDSE as the competition will be higher for non JUPAS. However, this may push them back to DSE and to a certain extent restore the fairness to the local students who cannot afford IAL/IB.

Correct me if Im wrong.

1. Such students are always considered as international students by local universities.

(They are classified as non-domestic students)


2. Otherwise they can’t score full marks in global engagement for ranking.
(well.... 見人講人话, 見鬼講鬼話, that's the beauty of the language ambiguity.)

Mainland students and students from other countries are paying the same tuition fee and sharing the 40% quota for non local students.

Some DSE students or their parents still see IAL/IB as easier shortcut to local universities, competitive programmes like medicine in particular. More intense competition in non JUPAS at least make them feel more comfortable mentally.

Non Local is more politically correct although QS and THE still count the mainland students as international students for HK universities.

無可能會出現 i-DSE，一來政治不正確，二來 i版本要改用全英文考（叫得國際試不能用中文和簡體字吧，否則其他國際考生不願意參加，問點解我要用非母語英文去考，但你就可以用母語中文？！ 大家不是在同一標準，其他國家的學生相信不會參加吧 ）

技術性問題啫，好似網友話可以叫CDSE, 或者NLDse:joyous::joyous:, 有中文卷有英文卷。

又唔係禾, 去Koera讀書考韓文, 去日本讀書考日文, 去中国讀書當然考中文啦. 遲d DSE变成中文就真, 正如去清北讀的HK同学, 我估唔会用英文瓜.
