Dear all,

I was so busy recently as the final exam is coming. It turned out that I've got over 100 unread emails in my account.

I forgot about the school visit and I missed it. How was it? Were the parents allowed to watch the kids having lessons?

Lydia,

Brian and Preston sat next to each other in Maggie's BD party. I asked Preston where you were. It's good that he could tell me what happend to you in detail. I was impressed when he told me that you went to see the doctor in the morning and took some medicine, so you would be fine very soon. :) Get well soon.

BTW, you maid is very nice!

Hei Ching mom,
Thanks, I'm better today and attended the visit to Pui Kiu.

The concept of Pui Kiu is very good, no exam, no test and mimimal homework. The kids there are very happy and you can read from their faces. I think I'll try this school.

ljsze,
Can you tell me more about your school visit?

Hei Ching's mom

I can understand your point. Sometimes, there are too many choices. Having a clear direction is good.

Davin was also excited about being a full-day student. Yet, he was overly excited & got mad last night. Nonetheless, he slept more.

Davin mentioned that he saw something about the earth or planet & kids of group A (including himself) were scared.

So, Pui Kiu adopts a very new concept. Sounds good but maybe not acceptable by some parents.

About Baptist U Affiliated School, they do have long-term vision. They train the kids to fit into the society of 2020. They applies continuous assessment iso exam. They will assess the kids based on the target set at the beginning of the school yr. They believe in experiment & demo in front of the others so that the kids can really grasp the knowledge. There are only 30 kids in grade 1 & 2 & two teachers in each class in grade 1. They offer a 12-year program. And, the principal (primary section & sec. section) are really professional but nice. You can attend the cirriculum seminar later. I'm inform you if you're interested.

ljsze,
Thanks very much for your sharing. Sounds similar as Pui Kiu. But the parents who attended both visits said the kids looked happier at Pui Kiu compared to BU. Anyway, many schools have great vision but all these schools are quite new. Whether their concepts work or not, no one knows, that's one thing I'm a bit worried. But there is no doubts the kids can have little stress and have a happy school-life (same for the parents as well).

It's the 1st time I met the new principal, she is soooooo young but quite nice. Just wondering if she got enough experience. [ 本文章最後由 LydiaWong 於 08-5-22 18:30 編輯 ]

Lydia

My worry is the same as yours - school being too new. Somehow I may feel that we put our kid to experiment.

Dear moms,
I attended the briefing sessionof GT(Ellen Yeung) college on Sat.. After hearing the briefing, I know this school is not my cup of tea. They emphasis a lot on going out for competition, have talent classes (actually is interest classes) within school time. P1-P3 base in Mong Kok school and P4-P6 share TKO school with the secondary school. Son't really like the school but may apply just as a mock interview.
