Hi Iron,I deleted my post because I didn't want more parents getting more upset due to my comments. I understand this is a discussion platform; anyone can make their comments. But I wish this is a more constructive platform rather than a place where anonymous people can hurt others' feelings. I hope more parents can try to see things from the school's perspective and then they will see that all parties are trying to do their best to make their kids better people.

BTW, I want to thank you for your comments over the years on this platform as you helped me choose CPS and CPSKG as the right schools for my kids.

Hi Iron, my kid is happy with the learning and is getting to the learning. We used to be in a so call famous kindergarten, the principal is meeting parents' concern by adding more and more really difficult concepts to the learning load at K3, our of kid's developmental ability (except some as some kids are exceptional) , general or average kids can't eat them all...by now, i know the CPS school is doing the right thing in addressing kid's learning with theoretical backup. They know what is learning and they know about child development.

so that's good!

I think I have made a right choice as this is what I need for my kid in the learning process.

what i hope is all the teachers be well-trained to meet the essence of IB!

hi all,

聽左2日學校個talk, 感覺如何??

我講下自己先, 以前只係考試前努力下, 平時聽話就過關, 而家係話測默考唔計, 但日日都係評估中, 反而係日日有壓力.......呢個係我大人諗法.

不過, 對於我仔係考試緊張型, 反而IB模式對佢有利, 佢又聽教聽話唔駁咀(係學校喳!), 平時分無難道, 而家學埋自己搵料, 開始見d成效, 但中學校長講黎講去都唔包底, 我個心都係未踏實, 唯有催谷oral, 實行中!

總括黎講, IB既理念真係好正, 自發自主, 如果真係從細訓練到小朋友能夠識自己去搵料做野, 自覺自律, 講得做得同人相處得, 將來真係一個完美既人, 可惜我地係凡人, 唔知阿仔得唔得.......努力中!

Hi Iron:

1) Facts about the presentation of IB on Saturday
The focus much of the presentation on 2 points:

a) Transdisciplinary learning, a teaching and learning strategy for IB

b) The exploratory learning

c) How the assessment was done on a & b


c) My good feelings:

1) If started from young to develop the enquiry based learning attitude, it's really good for kids, that's the essence of learning for everyone, I like this model of learning!

If the secondary school requested high standard of english ability, why the school not to put much focus on that, starting from primary school?

Their mandarin curriculum and teaching is very good, no need to find supplementary learning, but the English language policy should be presented with a more clear way to the parents..
