Hi all,

I have a 3yo (almost 4) daughter, Christy, who's currently attending pre-school here in the States. However, we'll be relocating to HK in August and Christy is scheduled to begin K3 (am class) at CPSK on Sept 1. Christy is a shy child so I'm very worried as to how she will be reacting to new surroundings, new language, new teachers and new friends. Do any of you know how the teachers at CPSK will handle a child in Christy's situations as I'm sure Christy will be crying quite a bit in class during the first few weeks of school. I do not expect the teachers to baby her but will they be understanding and patient with her?

Any advice/comment will be much appreciated!!

Hi Theresa12,
If i remember correctly, u will hv to go to school (& to the classroom) with your kid on the 1st day of school. This is to let both of u know which classroom it is, get the school bag, and know who are the class teachers. Just about 1 hr on the 1st day.
CPSKG teachers are very kind, just tell them your worry and probably they will help how to deal with it.
By the way, just for the sake of interest, almost 4 to begin K3? usually in HK it's age of 5 for K3.

Hi LA,

Thanks for your response. That was definitely a typo... Christy is starting K2 in Sept. Sorry about that!

It's comforting to know that the teachers are nice at CPSK. Hopefully Christy can adjust quickly and learn to love life in HK!
