I note that all year 6 students have to take a Cambridge primary checkpoint external test, covering all the work students have done during year 4 to 6. I wish to know if my kid transfers from local school to KIS at year 6, will it be difficult to catch up within one academic year? Local school syllabus is different from KIS’. Much appreciated for some advice on this if any moms’ kids have gone through similar path. Thanks! |

| 請問有小朋友是yesr 6入讀嗎？我想知道是否可以在一年內pick up課程考那個Cambridge 的公開試？我怕小朋友由傳統學校轉去，要一年內逼佢pick up好多新課程，仲慘過留在原校，又怕考不過，兩頭唔到岸，有冇過來人可分享吓呢？非常感謝。 |

My son has just changed from a local school to KIS this Sep and he's in Year 5 now. The teaching method and curriculum are very much different from the local school. The format of homework and assessment are also largely different. i.e. my son learns Ancient Greek history in social studies. Strong adjectives, powerful verbs and various poetic techniques in English. Also many reading and writing every week. Guess it'll take some time for your kid to adapt to it before he/she can take the public exam. |
