My advice: you should stay away from it. Reasons: 1. For the three years that he was there, we have never seen the principle. There was only an "administrator" who dealt with us. 2. During the three years, the turnover rate of the teachers was very high (the good teachers stayed on for an average 6 months only). 3. We needed to pay a "deposit" similar to a refundable debenture (around $50,000 at the time). They refunded it to us by August the year my son left. But all of his other classmates had problems getting the money back. In the worst case, one friend had to send them a letter from their lawyer and they didn't get the money until the following August. I heard the school was having financial problems. 4. Ever since my son started at the school, it had been continuously downsizing. I was told that a few years before we started there, they had four classrooms. When we joined, they had 3, then in the third year, they had 2. Now have have downsized more and moved to another shop space next door. 5. I know some parents have filed complaints to the EMB about this school, mainly the management. I didn't have any personal problems with them, but several other parents I knew ended up have serious arguments / disagreements with the school management. Although I am giving you experiences from 6 years ago and things may have improved, I still suggest you check thoroughly before sending your child there. In fact I have still heard negative comments about this school last year, but because that is all "hear-say", I don't want to repeat them. The Woodland Montessori and The International Montessori School are good alternatives. Hope this helps. |

| Hi Yosashto, Thanks a lot for your long explanation. Yes you are right that s the exact address I m referring to. They have now 2 proper classrooms + 1 like a common room or they could call it classroom too. In terms of the captial support fund program it s now HK$33000 but she told me it no longer applies now. I have visited their school once during class. They are very old in terms of decoration and also their teaching materials. But if they are good, I dont mind about it. So do u know if I should still send my girl there then. Are the teachers good, caring and responsible? I dont know if their staff turnvoer rates are still high. No clues about it. Since my girl is only 15 months old and that s the only place I can drop her off and she has her class on her own without my company. I know about Woodland but I have to accompany her the class until 2 and 8 months. That s the only good thing I like about this school. Let me know if you have any further comment, Yaosashto. I have not heard from friends about this school anymore, but I did a quick search on google and found this discussion thread. You can read it for reference (especially the replies on the second page, particularly #12 on June 14, 2007). http://www.geobaby.com/forum/thread116427.html Apparently, they are still having high teacher turnover as of last year, and it seems that they are not even communicating with the other Montessori schools in HK. Therefore I suggest that you put your child in another school. |

| thanks a lot for your comments. I was really going to apply it but now I'd better give a second thoughts. Sigh, I have to do the research all over again. The good thing about Mont school hk isthat I can let my 15month old daughter having her lessons on her own. Any one has any good recommendation as alternatives ?? |
