for 弟子規 and cheung wah字經 , they learn them at school only. They learn the vocabulary from the normal English and Chinese textbooks as well as others. Yes, they learn 'big' words but it's ok. To the kids, they are just pictures. They can pick up very fast. If your kid doesnt pay attention in the class (like my son), you need to teach him at home. My son doesnt like musical instrument. The school and I didnt force him to learn. He didnt need to play any musical instrument at school. Except he wasted the opportunities of participate in the musical festival as well as other activities that the school organised.
