| I heard a lot of good news from other IB schools, but not my son's school. Like CSS,7 students good offer from Big 3 (I know HKUST still interview hand picked students.) and 5 got unconditional offers. Really let me jealous........ My son talked to some seniors in the last two days and the results are excellent, in average two offers from HKU and or CUHK. - HKU Business and Law + CUHK QFin - HKU Global Business + CUHK QFin - HKU Medcine + CUHK Medicine....... But really bother me is the offers are conditional ...... even most offers are excellent. |

My daughter told me that at this point,2 female students accepted by Princeton 1 female by Oxford (conditional offer) 1 male by Cambridge (conditional offer) Oxbridge are overseas students, Princeton are both from International Schools 1 local girl rejected by Cambridge, though she has 42/42 1 local boy rejected by a lot of universities, (including second tiers in UK) though he has 41/42 Almost every local students get 38+... I personally don't quite understand the case about the local boy.... |

Dear Ksenia Are you referring to results of a particular school? I am confused by "local" and ïnternational" students you mentioned. |

Two boys got offer from Princeton and Columbia For Medicine, both boys are 42/42, the conditional offers are 42 and 43 included bonus point for 5 yr program. |

Normally local students won't apply for medicine in the US cos the system is different. Confident students stick to HKU MBBS while the weaker ones apply for UK unis. If they want to be a doctor in Hong Kong, they'll have to sit for an examination which is relatively difficult. |

| ksenia & poonseelai I try to answer your question about local boys... Communication skills - most boys are poor in oral and writing, - too focus on internet games and MSN or fb..... Attitude - boys less aggressive compared with girls, particularly reflected in group interview, - girls more mature than boys, in terms of studying, career, relationship... Maturity - Equal opportunity is a ???????? ************************************* Biased comment Haven't said that, ksenia and my samples size are too low and may not represent the sample population. |
