I don't think so. Now in fact more local schools accept students from international kinder as their English is better. I know some friends have kids studying in international kinders (YMCA, ESF, Yew Chung, Think etc) and then get accepted by PLK CKY, TSL, Maryknoll ... |

Tks for the information! I heard of Boxhill b4 but it sound expensive, right? Do you know how much per annum. And what do you think about greenfield, good health or wellborne? And I really think Chinese is same important as Eng. nowsaday. And that why I want him to switch in primary school... |

Yes, English and Chinese are equally important, yet the teaching approach is even more important as it affects the development of interest in study, reading habbit, self-motivation, creativity, way of thinking, organization and structure ... IS seems to be better in this aspect. Not quite sure if those new DSS can achieve this, can see results only after a few more years. |

If you want him to study in traditional primary shool. You better do not sent him to international kindergarten. In Ma On Shan, Greenfield is not bad. The ratio of English teacher is quite large. You can choose to let your son to attend English session in afternoon. |

My boy is studying in a int'l kindergarten and I heard from the principal that some kids got into local schools such as Maryknoll, DBS, St. Francis after K3. :-) |

Yes you are right..my boy is shy and I would like him to build up self-confident and create his interest of learning in his early age. I am happy to know some of the IS kinder still can switch to traditiaonl primary school , but still I think it will quite hard at the beginning.. |
