My son will enter CKY this year. We live in Tsing Yi and want to find out how many students need the school bus or van run directly from Tsing Yi to Tin Hau CKY School. If enough persons are interested, we can group together to book the school bus or van. Thank you.

Hi All CKY parents,

I have one colleague whose nephew is studying P5 in CKY. I asked her what cons she found in this school. What she told me is the writing skill is comparatively weak because the students don't need to write a lot. For english, I think it's fine. But for chinese, you can recognize those words by reading doesn't mean we can write that word. Just like us, sometimes we forgot how to write the word without writing for a long time. How can you overcome this problem?

I know prarents have to spend time on reading with children and sometimes help them to do the homework. Since their homework is very openmind and creative, if I am not a very creative parent (I was studied under spoon feeding type), is it difficult for me to help them?

Dear karismum,

As I said many times before, every student does having different ability towards Chinese, English on aspects like reading, writing, speaking, listening and different ability on reasoning, virtual thinking towards science, math. etc. What is the difference for student study in CKY type school is they are not forced to memorising all those material they feel difficult(as we does in the past) but rather try to help them catch up with those weak area. I will not say it just the school's business, they are not Jesus. When you feel your kid doesn't match the standard with the local school in some areas, you need to improve them by yourself and find some supplement book for them to 'learn'. Please bear in mind not selecting those very boring exercise book which is not in line with school's teaching culture. I recently find some english books from singapore publisher which is also very creative (they change quicker than HK which still emphasis on memorising and mechanical work). For Chinese subject, I do not feel any problem with the school syllabus.

I still ask the same question, which school can also provide bilingual teaching, english school, one dragon, all student not taking HK local exam. I am not blindly support the school but I still can't find something similar.

Dear Karisma,

Dear All,

My son was in P1, he was from Kentville. Therefore compare to the others, I think his Chinese skill is more strong then English subject. Especially my son is quite poor on Grammar (I need to spend a lot of time in every night). :-(

Hello, are there any new P1 kids from Kowloon Tong too ?

We will be travelling to the Kwong Lee Road campus first.

I'm just a bit worried about eyesight problems if the children have to read books on the school bus every day.

Audreymom & Tingtingmum,

I will contact the school bus company if there are enough no. of students to join the direct bus arrangement. Are any parents like to join this direct bus arrangement plan from Tsing Yi to Tin Hau CKY P1 campus? Please contact me.

By the way, can the East Kowloon direct bus arrangement group's parents tell us whether CKY School makes the proper arrangement for the story telling period in Tin Hau P1 campus. Thank you very much.
