Dear kyliema, Thanks for your advice. That means the school can only inform the students in the waiting list AFTER September? Sammi Quote: kyliema2006 寫道: Dear Sammi, As parents have already paid the non-refundable registration fee, think parents will not inform the school to withdraw. Meanwhile, I'll suggest you write letters to the school to see if there is any vacancy. Regards. |

Kunggi, here's a thread re your enquiry. It says participants included upper primary students from some PLK schools and private schools (KTS and SFA). Hope this is of use. http://www.baby-kingdom.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=1005827&forum=7#16991039 |

Dear Che, I'm a Y1 parent and would not claim to be very knowledgeable about CKY. I gather that its curriculum is not US-based. It's following IBD for its Y11-12 students (mind you that they currently have students up to Y6 only), which hopefully leads to a variety of choices for further studies. Therefore, if you're using admission rates for top US universities as a benchmark, some of HK's more established international schools are more your cup of tea. One of the reasons we chose - and are still staying with - CKY is its emphasis (and, hopefully, delivery) on bi-literate, tri-lingual education. More important, it provides a pressure-free, yet inspiring environment that would help to instill in students a yearning for learning. As to the school/student output, I suggest you take a look at "In the Yau Garden", a compilation of the theses, in both English and Chinese, prepared by their Y5 students. By the way, some Y3 students are enjoying the Harry Potter series. Sure I would not say it's an average standard for students there. But the less capable ones are still enjoying school (unlike some others who might have already been 'labeled' as 'incompetent' in some local schools). If you are really concerned about "outcome", sorry that CKY won't have it until 6 or even 10 years later. I can't speak for other parents, but I'm becoming more at ease - and confident - sending my kid studying at CKY. |
