Annie & Jimmy, My son has studied in Anfield for a year. He is very happy with his school life. I and my husband are also satisfied with the school. They are well-structured and caring. children-oriented; not money-oriented. Some parents may think that the weakness of Anfield is "no special connection with ESF or other IS". However, the children graduated from Anfield are smart :-) . I was offered a place by ESF Kinder; however, I decided to sta in Anfield because I think , for the time being, I am sure that my son studies in a good school. The education before 5 years old is also very important  |

Hi, Fattymom Knowing that your child is studing in Anfield, may I know the language development of your child. Because I and my husband ususally speak cantonese to my girl, so I want to chose a kindergarten which can provide a good english environment to her. Thanks! |

Quote: SaBB 寫道: bigbighei , you are welcome  How old is your child? SaBB |

Fattymom, i also want to ask to something about interview. As some bk mama told that if their children speak Cantonese, the chance of success for the interview will be lower (some IS). The interviewers of some IS ask them if their childrenspeak Cantonese, they only will be on the waiting list :-? |

Hi everybody, I visit the webiste of Anfield and see that the fee of playgroup is $12000 for 3 days per week. I want to ask a stupid question, $12000 for a year or a month? |

All everybody!, Sorry, I haven't clicked on this topic for a long time. I hope late reply can be helpful. For Anfield playgroup, they charge by term, all inclusive. As I observe, all Anfield children can speak very good english! Some of their parents cannot speak good english, or talk to their kids in cantonese. Don't worry. Anfield is famous for its strong language training. Since my son had middle ear infection before (for a year :-( ). He suffers from speech delay. Yesterday, the speech therpist did an assessment on him and said his comprehension skill is very good. It means he can understand english very well; however, he has no confidence to express himself  All in all, Anfield is a very good school. Your kid can get sth from there. Don't worry. :-P There is no interview for your kid. They accept students on first come first serve basis. However, the vacancies will be filled quite fast. |

Hi Fattymom, There are lots of positive comments regarding Anfield but as far as I know, Anfiled doesn't put much emphasis on Chinese training (1-2 lessons a week ?) as compared to some other IS kindys like Tutor Time & Kingston which uses 50% English and 50% Putongua. I guess most mommies considering to send their kids to IS would struggle on the fear of losing Chinese proficiency. Could you kindly share your experience on this ? How's the Chinese level of your kid ? Did you arrange other Chinese training class for your little one ? |
