How about the tests? Would they be counted in the school report? Also, would there be any exams/ tests for subjects like Putonghua,常識, Religious etc.? Thanks a lot.

Yes, tests are counted as a small %tage in the exam but not display in school report. The tests are:

中英數常 (4 tests)

If the kid is sick and cannot take the test, then 100% will be counted in examination. I am not sure about the %tage in test, may be 30% and exam 70%.

For examination:

Oral
English dictation exam
Music
中作
宗教
中英數常

The examin marks will be counted with tests mark and displayed in School report as Grade (A, B or C).

If the second exam marks of the 4 major subjects is higher than the first exam 2 to 3 marks, the kid will be given an award of "進步生". Conduct B/B+ will be given a certificate of "品德優異生". If 3 or 4 major subjects get Grade A will be awarded as "成績優異生".

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I didn't see the sheet until I searched the school bag tonight. My daughter has been absent for two days becasue of 腸胃炎. Hope she can catch up with the class after returning back to shcool.

Is your daughter OK now? Since she is still very small now, you can imagine if one of the classmate in the class get sick, other kids sitting in the same group will easily get sick. My son is OK during the first semester (P1) but during Winter, over 10 classmate in his class have high temperature and he got flu and high temperature and absented for 4 days. I am glad that the class teacher Miss. Yuen called us and asked about my son, she is so nice, she told me if my son come back to school she will review all the worksheets with him.

My son likes her very much, and he told me that he and other childrens will visit Miss Yuen during lunch hour all the time. (sometimes when it's a rainy day, he and his friends cannot play outdoor, they will visit and say hello to Miss Yuen is her office :lol: )

This is just the beginning of the P1 year, don't push yourself and your kid too much. She will adapt very fast, faster than the parents can imagine.

Thanks. Quite a good rewarding scheme. Is it easy?
Seems that it is quite difficult to get high grade in homework, esp. writing. My girl gets B in her 1st Chinese writing , but she said no one gets A in class. I don't know whether she really knows the marks of others, but that's what she told me.

哈哈! It is easy for kids to make friends with each other in a group. Although teacher will not announce mark in the class, the children will talk about it during 小息. Diff. teacher will have different teaching style, my son's teacher in P1. told the kids not too worry about each other's mark, but they will still know each other's mark after the class. B is quite Good in the beginning of the year. In this school, "conduct" is much more important comparing to "marks".

hi all - those big sisters / brothers are good. my gal told me that they were practising the english dictation with them, the p.1. students, these 2 days! hope my gal will being like them 1 day :lol:

Yes, they are so kind. My girl told me also, the big sisters will also lead them to play during lunch time.

Tomorrow is the date, hope my girl will do her best.
