想請問各位家長對功課有何意見呢?我記得劉校長說希望學生可以在校完成功課,好讓學生在家裏多看圖書,但事實又...... :-?

Dear Venice121,

與傳統學校相比，蔡繼有的功課量相對較少、內容亦較有趣，時間不用多花在抄寫上。雖然功課量不算很多，但有些功課所花的時間確實又不少。以小兒為例，對於資料搜集、閱讀、及聆聽等功課，往往要花半小時才能完成一份。所以，一天匆匆忙忙又過去了。

問題是，學校好像没有平衡各科功課，有時全天没功課，有時又會一天有多份功課。若如　閣下所言，所有功課在校內完成，好像甚少發生。

若小朋友以前是就讀國際學校的，說不定他們會覺得功課很多。正所謂－觀點角度也！對本人而言，我滿意蔡繼有對功課的設計及質素，可啓發小兒思考及具成功感。

多謝你的回應.

我同意你說功課量不多及富創意性的看法,但問題是在於功課上的安排,因為學生往往須要較多時間去完成功課,如果同日有多過兩三樣的功課,時間上已經非常緊迫,還有小兒說老師沒有講解功課,他回家後也不明白怎樣做.我也不知是否屬實? :-?

I suppose you need to talk to the class teacher your opinions. how about your kid's response to the homeworks? does he under stress? sometimes parents get that pressure more than kids.

Absolutely, all of us are under stress. I have been talk to the class teacher, but she said it is no time to let the student to finish the homework at school because of the curriculum is tight. I wonder why principal lau said she wants the student to finish the homework at school. :-?

Well, it is not bad to have a Target (want student to finish homework at school) but it all depends on the tight schedule (simply like special outings/activities or even fitting of winter school uniform) and also students themselves (his or her ability).

We should have consideration. Up to now, I don't feel her homework is overloaded. She is able to complete part of her homework in the class. The most difficulty is to encourage her to practice her New Instrument Daily and at the same time practice Paino too :-) ...since, she is eager to get Gold Prize, not Silver or Bronze.

does your kid has problem with cky? if he/she doesn't like the school environment, that shld be the major problem. regarding the homeworks, suggest you speak frankly with the class teacher the stress you encountered. I suppose 60 min. daily homework time is still manageable. According to my observation, there is no need strictly follow the homework submission time. you can depends on your own schedule, say saturday or sunday to manage those comparatively difficult works, and deliver this message to the class teacher as reference. In cky, class teacher can recommend children jump up one grade according to their talent, vice versa, you hv the right to adjust your kid's learning pace in order to keep their interest.
