I just check the website of University of Oxford in UK.

According to them, students from EU (including portugal) pay the same fees as local UK student.

---------
"What will it cost me, and what sources of funding are available to me?

EU students

EU students pay the same fee rates as UK students, which is £3,070 in 2007. You do not have to pay a college fee if you are eligible to apply for support from the SLC EU Customer Services Team. You can take out a loan for all or part of your tuition fees but most EU students aren't eligible for a loan for maintenance. For more information, visit www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance and follow the links on the right-hand side of the page.?"

So I think if you have a portugese passport, you only need to pay the local fees.

my son is still young but he and his cousin have portuguese passport. According to what I heard from his uncle, the Macao Portuguese passport holder has to stay in UK for 7 yrs before eligible for paying less.

I also want to know. Tell me if you have further information.

yep u're right. and the better or the more famous the school, the harder it is the get home fee status.

for some schools, u also need to provide proof of address - i.e. ur parents / u have a house in the UK.

so best check with the school directly.

the same fee as local UK students. I have also heard that the number of years ...

those are the top 5 universities in the UK. :-) I went to UCL myself, and have friends who went to the other 4. the requirements would be quite strict for all of them. they'd consider case by case, so would need to call the universities direct & discuss....
